- Swim in the crystal clear waters of Smugglers Cove
- Enjoy the fantastic scenery whilst cruising around the north of the island

The boat will cruise past the residential area of Krioneri, the resort areas of Tsilivi, Alykanas and Alykes, up to Skinari, the most northern part of the island, where you can see the lighthouse. Also, just off the port of Agios Nicholas at Skinari there is a small island in the shape of a turtle, officially belonging to the Vatican as it was not ceded to Greece along with the rest of the Ionian Islands in the 18th Century. From this point our closest neighbor, Kefalonia, can be seen.
Continuing, the boat sails fairly close to the famous Blue Caves discovered in 1897. The name comes from the color of the water, a mixture of aquamarine and turquoise. This area is also the deepest part of the Mediterranean called the Well of Ionysos, which is about 4,500 meters deep.
Heading onto Smugglers Cove, where the wreck of the ship “Panayiotis” can be seen and have a stop for a wonderful swim in the lovely blue waters. The beach is not sandy, it has small white pebbles. Smugglers cove is only accessible by the sea. (Docking and swimming is weather permitting)
The boat will now turn around and will cruise around the north coast and the captain will make other swim stops during the afternoon before sailing back to the port in Zakynthos Town.
Here you will be met and transferred back to your resort.

Kefalonia Highlights
Highlights:
- Visit the monastery of St Gerassimos, the patron saint of the island of Kefalonia
- Tour around Drogarati Cave
- Boat trip to Melissani Lake and Cave
- See the sights in Argostoli, the capital city of Kefalonia
Guests will be picked up from their resorts to connect with the boat from the port.
St George's castle was the capital of Kefalonia until the end of the 17th Century. The Byzantines started the work in the 12th Century but it was the Venetians who gave the castle its present day look. It is this dunce's-cap of a hill which gave the castle an almost impregnable position. St George's castle was to remain the capital of Kefalonia right up until the Napoleonic wars. Rumour has it that there were even tunnels that once connected the castle to Argostoli some 5km away. These, of course, collapsed in the 1953 earthquake!
First stop will be the monastery of St. Gerassimos, the patron of the Island. St Gerassimos was known for his miraculous abilities to cure people with mental illness. The monastery is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Kefalonia and is situated under the imposing Mount Ainos. Today the monasteryhas been reconstructed and it is an imposing building with a newly built church.
Next you head to the impressive Drogarati Cave, located outside of Sami, with its fine stalactites & stalagmites. Experts estimate that the cave is about 150 million years old. A natural balcony was created in 1953 from the earthquake, overlooking a chamber with about 100 square meters of floor, making it possible to hold concerts for up to 500 people. (30 min stop).
Continuing on to Melissani Lake and Cave. Explore by boat, the cave stalactites, which are over 20,000 years old. Following a roof cave-in, an impressive sight has been created causing the colors of the water to be reflected onto the walls of the cave. Important archaeological finds were also discovered on the lake’s sandbank, one of them is a figurine of the nymph Melissanthe after whom the cave is named, and another is a clay figurine of the God Pan. (30/40 min stop).
Lunch will be at the town of Aghia Efimia – before the 1953 earthquake it was one of the island’s important trade centres, with stately homes, these were rebuilt with help from the French. Today it’s a wonderful town with a small harbour. You will have time here for lunch, a stroll or souvenir shopping. After lunch, we drive towards Myrtos Bay, one of Kefalonia’s famous beaches, for a photo-stop.
Finally a visit to Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, here you can take refreshments, relax in the square, or have a walk and explore before reboarding the coach to start your journey back to the port.
The boat departs at 17.30 and arrives back in Zakynthos at approx 19.00. You will then be transferred back to your resort.

Popolaros Evening

- Excellent Greek food and wine
- Live Greek music and Greek dancers
The Popolaros Taverna was established in 1992 and is located in the village of Ampelokipi. It takes its name from the Italian word “popolari” which means popular, but also dates back to the Venetian occupation of Zakynthos in the 16th century when “popolari” was the name given to the “common people” of the island. It is a very popular taverna for the local residents of Zakynthos both in the summer and winter months.
Following a devastating fire in the summer of 2020, after which only the charred remains of the taverna were left, it has now been rebuilt and out of the ashes has emerged a fantastic setting which takes you back in time. It gives the illusion that you are eating outside in a traditional village square from street-name signs, authentic lamp-posts, a balcony and the “night sky ceiling” and provides an unforgettable atmosphere.
We will arrive at the venue at around 20.00. During the evening there will be a short sketch showing some of the history of Zakynthos to set the scene for the evening and to provide an authentic atmosphere to get you in the right mood to enjoy an unforgettable evening.
The entertainment includes live Greek music and Greek dancers. After the meal it will be your turn to have a try at Greek dancing along with the professionals.
At the end of evening around 23.00 you will rejoin your coach and be taken back to your resorts.
